Anyone who has met my family knows my mother was a collector and designer of all things Christmas — themed trees each year, hand-painted ornaments, a Fitz and Floyd porcelain collection that rivaled Marshall Field's. She and her friend Annie perfected the art of the perfectly wrapped present. My mom turned our home into a place of magic and wonder every holiday season.
Perhaps that's why I've kept every holiday card my husband and I have received for over 20 years. There's no better time to receive mail than the holidays — every delivery is a welcome surprise of familiar faces and much-appreciated updates.
